Starting Position:

  • Lie on your back with your legs in a tabletop position (knees bent at a 90-degree angle).
  • Lift your head and shoulders off the mat, engaging your abdominal muscles.

Arm Position:

  • Extend your arms straight out in front of you, hovering a few inches above the mat.

    Keep your arms straight and your palms facing down.

Breathing:

  • Inhale for a count of five as you pump your arms up and down.

    Exhale for a count of five as you continue pumping.

Legs:

  • As you pump your arms, you can also extend your legs straight out at a 45-degree angle if you want to increase the challenge.

The idea is to maintain a stable and controlled position while engaging your core muscles and coordinating your breath with the arm movements. The Hundred is a fundamental exercise in Pilates and helps warm up the body, activate the core, and improve circulation. It’s often used as a starting point for more advanced Pilates exercises.
